Moving day…
Moving day is finally here. The long awaited, by me anyway, rollout of my new website is finally here. I built the current website back in 2020 to showcase some of my photography and post little snippets of projects I was working on. At the time I wanted it hosted on my own servers so I could display my photos at higher resolutions than I could on the usual social media sites. I also wanted the challenge to learn website building and its all went well for the most part and I was happy with it. Or so I thought.
Managing the server was easy enough but keeping the security up to date and staying connected to all the other social platforms required constant vigilance. That was if that was all I do but it’s not. This is still a hobby and not yet a profession.
The final straw was simply the web address. A web address needs to be easy, memorable and simple to enter into your browser. When you host your own website you really don’t get a domain and so your website address isn’t very memorable or easy.
So I finally stepped out and purchased my own domain name and began moving my content to a new site. This gives me a new name, mybucketlistphotography.com, up to date security, and the ability to grow my platform in the future.
You might not see a lot of difference in the layout, it’s always been pretty clean and simple. What I do hope you’ll see is more content, more photos and more posts.
Stay tuned, I hope the best is yet to come.
